Love Letters | Bethany & Jim

Bethany & Jim’s wedding was a relaxed family affair on beautiful Canandaigua Lake.  With bright accents and rustic undertones the bride and groom enjoyed their wedding and had this to say about Pauleenanne Design:

Pauleen really took my wedding to the next level and on my wedding day I didn’t worry about a thing. She went above and beyond my excpections and my guests really noticed those touches that having a wedding designer can add.

When I hired Pauleen I had already hired most of my vendors and so I used her Design Services for my rehearsal dinner and for my wedding and reception. I really trusted her opinion and design knowledge and she respected my ideas on how I wanted my wedding to look. She filled in the gaps and really put the finishing touches on the entire event. She worked with my florist, set up additional lighting, and worked into the wee hours on several nights just to get it right. I had a few bridezilla moments and she was cool as a cucumber the whole time, reassuring me that she wanted it to be right.

Pauleen is very handy, creating many of the pieces herself which is great for brides on a budget. In fact I would recommend hiring a designer like her especially if you are on a tight budget because she really helps get the most out of your money. I was amazed at what she was able to do with what I had to spend on the wedding. There were a couple of ideas where I did have to tell her it just wasn’t in the budget, but then we worked together to put create something else that was budget friendly. She was worth every penny and the piece of mind on the day of was priceless!

Pauleen was very flexible, I had no trouble setting up meetings with her and she was even willing to split the travel distance between her home and mine. She was very responsive to emails (sometimes even into the wee hours!) which never left me wondering what was going on. Her pricing is extremely reasonable, especially for design only services which is really what most people need.

Hiring Pauleen was one of the best decisions I could have made!

With Pauleenanne Design’s 2nd birthday finally here, we wanted to share a little insider information on our President and Head Designer, Pauleen Vacca.

{1} What made you want to start Pauleenanne Design?  Upon graduation from St. John Fisher I began my search in the events field.  Finding little opportunity in my specific talent area, I decided to build my own opportunity.  Pauleenanne Design was the perfect way to use my talents and gain my dream career.
{2} What is your favorite event you have done so far? I loved a launch event I did in NYC for Shakira’s “S” fragrance.  It was the first event I got to work on in the big city.  It was extremely design oriented, which is my favorite part of events.  The space was at a three story home with a huge vaulted ceiling that had a gorgeous skylight at the top.  With florals everywhere and a middle east luxury feel, the event helped me fall in love with event design.
{3} What is one thing you have learned in your time as an event planner? I’ve learned that even though I do work in a “behind the scenes” industry, there is so much where the spotlight is on you.  You need to be able to communicate with a diverse audience in order to understand their varied expectations, needs, and also in order to build a positive relationship.
{4} How are you going to celebrate your company’s 2nd birthday?  Work on weddings!  In our second year we have tripled our wedding business, so I will definitely be staying busy, consulting with brides, finalizing design items, and being on site for coordination.
{5} Who is your event idol?  Colin Cowie.  I love his style, his versatility, and his fresh perspective.
{6} What is one thing you are looking forward to in the next year?  Building the Pauleenanne Design brand.  Not only do we plan events, but we also do company branding, graphic design, marketing, and so much more.  I will be diligently working on creating the best way to communicate these services to the Western New York area.  I look forward to seeing growth in these areas and bringing awareness to all our services.

{7} What is something you want to accomplish by your 3rd birthday? Being featured in a magazine.  I would be smitten if our work made it onto a glossy page book of the latest Well Wed, The Knot, or Brides magazine.
