Guest Blog – McCarthy Tents & Events

Trying to figure out those perfect details for your wedding? Are you looking for more than just the usual cookie-cutter look and relationship from a vendor? McCarthy Tents & Events have shared a little on what they’ve been seeing growing as trends and how they can help make your day beautiful. Read their guest blog below!

Event

By Hand, By Heart

The overarching trend this year for brides is a renewed appreciation for things handmade. They’re shifting away from big-box offerings and returning to things made with love. We’re seeing a lot of chalkboards with custom font work, handwritten materials, hanging lanterns, delicate, earthy floral arrangements, and dramatic lighting installations. We’re also seeing interesting mixed materials – like the metals and woods.
McCarthy Tents & Events specializes in these unique, authentic details. We are a family operation proudly redefining rental for the people we serve. We hand make all our farm tables, and also offer handmade sweetheart tables (which can be purchased by the bride and groom), handmade bars, plank tables, coffee tables, card holders and so much more. Pair these details with one of our stunning sailcloth tents or captivating clear top tents, and your guests will be in awe of your event.

If these unique and handmade products are what you’re looking for, make sure you contact McCarthy Tents & Events today!

New Intern – Brittany Petrone

New Intern
We want to introduce our last summer intern to you! Brittany Petrone joined our team in June as an event intern. She’s always willing to do whatever she can to help out and we love her attitude and ambition. As an event intern, Brittany has already got to do work on various weddings and proved herself to be a vital team member! We know she’ll go far once her internship ends and she continues on her career journey. Below are some questions and answers to get to know Brittany a little better.
{1} What school are you attending/did you attend? The College At Brockport
{2} What have you done before interning for Pauleenanne Design? Work experience with Wegmans for 8 years, work with MacGregors Restaurant, Interned with Walt Disney World, and Interned with Out of the Ordinary Special Events.
{3} What do you hope to gain from this internship? Become more knowledgeable on tips and pointers of a wedding planner, learn new things such as blogging and professional social networking, along with learning organization and time management skills beyond what I already have.
{4} What is your favorite quote? Hakuna Matata
{5} If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? To sing, if only that was always something that could be learned. I wish I could sing in the shower and not be embarrassed of my voice even in solitude!
{6} Where can we find you when you’re not working? I am rarely “not working.” As far as not working at Pauleenanne Design, I am usually working at Wegmans or MacGregors (yes, I work three jobs currently), but on my days off I am either crafting, relaxing outdoors, trying new restaurants or shopping!
{7} What would be your dream event to plan? A celebrity wedding would be super fun because of the endless possibilities.
{8} Are you inspired by anyone in the events industry? David Tutera started my inspiration to become an events planner when watching his shows on TV. But real life inspiration are my two cousins (a sister team) who own a Wedding Planning business in San Francisco, California.

{9} Tell us an interesting fact about yourself. I’ve been skydiving!

Welcome (officially) to the Pauleenanne Design family Brittany!
