Guest Blog – BeanArtPhotography

Picking the right photographer for your wedding day is a hugely important decision. You need to find a photographer who is not only highly skilled, but has a great personality so you can have fun with them throughout your entire day. Well, look no further than Tyler Holbein from BeanArt Photography. Learn a little more about this amazing photographer below, along with some examples of what to expect when working with him in his guest blog.

Tyler takes tremendous pride in creating unique and true to life photos, doesn’t settle for mediocrity and loves all things that have to do with light, adventure and story. He is passionate about traveling, backpacking and seeing new sights. It’s a life goal of his, along with his wife, to visit every continent on earth! As a photographer he loves capturing those small details that, together, make up the whole setting and mood. He does not come with a shot list as he believes that premeditated photos detract from the authenticity of the moment. We also know from experience that he’s a joy to work with!

“I strive to reflect in my photos the real you. Your genuine, unaltered emotion is what makes a photo truly yours. I try to give you just enough guidance to make you feel confident, but enough freedom to be yourselves. You will never see me “posing” you in the sense of faking a moment or recreating someone else’s already cheesy ideas. I whole heartedly believe photos should reflect raw beauty and genuine emotion so you can expect me to be a goofball trying to expose the laughter, smiles and general happiness hiding behind your shell.

BeanArtPhotographyDuring my shoots I’ll do fun and creative games and activities with my couples to produce natural expressions and real emotionsBeanArtPhotographyFor this shot I had Jess and Pat get in as close as possible for a kiss without actually kissing. I had them hold this position for as long as possible, it didn’t take long before they burst out laughing and these incredible smiles came out.

I am also an adventurer with an enthusiasm to always go the extra mile. Working with me means you must be willing to go beyond ordinary (and have a blast doing it). I am always trying to create a sense of awe and inspiration in my photos so whether it’s a crazy spot around the block or around the world, you can count me in for a photo-venture.

BeanArtPhotographyChris and Mandy are getting married locally, but they live in NYC. We wanted their engagement photos to be epic while also keeping the photos relative to their home lives.
BeanArtPhotographyDave and Cate came up with this awesome location and their personalities and wardrobe choice fit the bill perfectly.
BeanArtPhotographyWe wanted a location that would coincide with Andrew and Leah’s adventurous lifestyle. What better way to do that than a week long photo shoot in the southwest!

In the end I just want to be observing and documenting the persons you are and the moments you share. If you find yourself relating to my artistic taste and sense of adventure then I would be thrilled to hear from you!”

Guest Blog – Lovely Bride

Your wedding dress. One of the most important, and fun, details to pick out for your wedding day! When searching for that perfect wedding dress, you want to be able to visit shops that are centered on their client relationships and that offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere when trying on all the different options. It’s also important that they’re knowledgeable on the newest trends, designers and styles. We’re very happy to have our new friends at Lovely Bride share tips on the latest wedding trends in the below guest blog. We are so happy to have them in the Rochester market!

“Just like with ready-to-wear fashion, the bridal industry gathers twice a year at Bridal Market to see the latest and greatest offerings from all the bridal industry darlings. Happening in October and April, Bridal Market is, in essence, the fashion week of wedding-wear – and it’s just as fun as you think it would be! But, it’s also overwhelming – so many new trends and so little time or occasion to sport them! So, here at Lovely Bride, we are breaking it down to some of the top colors, silhouettes and styles that will be gracing the aisle at weddings in the months to come.

Let’s start with color, color and a little more color! Blush and pink gowns continue to be a major trend in bridal. And this season also saw the introduction of something blue! Light blue hues were evident in multiple collections, including this stunner from Carol Hannah.Light Blue Wedding Dress

We anticipate that we’ll see even more blue in April. There were also quite a few hand-painted fabrics in evidence. We think Claire La Faye did it best with her In Bloom gown.In Bloom Gown

Interesting textures are also a hot trend to look out for. Feathers, macramé and beading were all showcased. Designers went beyond lace to add interest to their creations. Hayley Paige showed this gorgeous number inspired by one of her own three bridal gowns with hand-cut flowers gracing the ball gown skirt.Ball Gown Dress

It also continues to be all about the back in bridal! After all, you have to look amazing from behind as you walk down that aisle. Dramatic backs featuring illusions, lace and low cuts were shown everywhere. We couldn’t get enough of these fabulous numbers from Lea-Ann Belter and Ivy & Aster.Low Back Dress

Lastly, for the adventure-seeking bride, there was a little wild, wild west on display at bridal market this year. Rustic ranch is another good way to describe the cowboy-inspired fashions featuring cotton lace, tiered skirts and a little bit of spunk.

Lovely Bride is a friendly collective of bridal shops with locations nationwide. We are known for our casual setting and friendly stylists who really care – not to mention gorgeous gowns that aren’t like anything you’ve seen at other bridal shops! The Rochester location opened in July at 72 W. Main St. Victor, NY. Visit us at www.lovelybride.com to learn more about our designers or make an appointment.”

Upcoming Trunk Shows:

December 11th-13th – Anna Campbell

January 8th-10th – Ivy & Aster

Last week, we were lucky enough to get to visit Le Moyne College for a DIY Live event! The theme was easy DIY Halloween costumes. We love getting to interact with the students and have a good time while doing some stress-relieving crafting! We wanted to share some of the photos from the event, as well as the “how-to’s” for all of you at home. Just follow the links below for the 5 different options. Feel free to send any photos of your completed projects and we may just add them to our collage here!

{1} Hippie Headband: This beautiful floral headpiece is easy to make.  Become a hippie, Coachella attendee, or Frida Kahlo.

{2} Wizard Wand: Hot glue and paint will magically turn this wooden dowel into a wizard wand.  Become Harry or another beloved wizard this halloween.

{3} Superhero Mask: This no sew tutorial is a great way to create your own superhero mask.  Go DC, Marvel, or even create your own one of a kind mask.

{4} Sims Plumbob: Any 90s kid would appreciate this DIY Halloween costume.  The folding can be a little tricky, but in the end it’s a go to, easy costume.

{5} Care Bear Tummy: Get the puffy paint and cuddles out for this DIY.  A super cute Care Bear is the way to go this Halloween!
